Food For the Gods

Princess Daphne Eresteou has suffered unjustly at the hands of her uncle and cousin since her father, King Erestes died. The two have committed high crimes against the Gods and have been judged by the Fates. The Princess must be chained to the Sea Rock and offered to the Kraken, that they might consume her. Twisting the Oracle’s words, the King declares Daphne a suitable candidate for sacrifice: Once a King’s daughter, always a King’s daughter.

The Kraken—three fierce, shape-shifting sea serpents—are really the sons of Poseidon, the Sea God. They’ve seen Daphne before, in fact, they spent a hot sultry afternoon sampling her lush curves and challenging her sexual naiveté. When the morning of the sacrifice arrives, the three brothers show Daphne, and the watching crowd, a whole new meaning for the word “consume” as the willing sacrifice is devoured in a ritual that defies mortal belief.
